Donny Osmond is a legendary singer, actor, dancer, television host, and performer who rose to fame as a teen idol during the 1970s. He has sold more than 100 million records and received 33 gold records throughout his 60+ years in the music industry. His self-titled show “Donny Osmond” is one of the best shows in Las Vegas.
About Donny Osmond
For more than ten years, Donny performed the award-winning show “Donny and Marie” at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. Now he has returned to Vegas with a solo act at the Harrah’s Showroom of the Harrah’s Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. Ticket prices start at around $121.
Donny had a long career in the music industry before ever coming to Sin City. His music career started in the 1960s as a child performer alongside his four older brothers in the family music group “The Osmonds.” They recorded numerous top-10 hits on the music charts, including gold albums.
When Donny became a teenager in the 1970s, he left The Osmonds to pursue a solo music career. He also performed and recorded numerous top-10 songs, making him one of the early “teen idols” in the United States.
Between 1976 and 1979, he partnered with his sister, Marie Osmond, to host a television variety series called “Donny & Marie.” In addition, the music duo went on to record more gold albums and top-10 songs as well. Anyone who grew up in the 1970s will remember the “Donny & Marie” group because they received national fame.
Years later, the brother-and-sister duo would revive their music act with an 11-year residency at the legendary Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. This residency lasted from 2008 to 2019. After that, Donny revived his solo act at the Harrah’s Showroom of the Harrah’s Hotel in Las Vegas. That is where you can see him perform today.
If you are an avid watcher of the reality show “Dancing with the Stars,” you might remember that Donny won season 9. His other television credits include hosting a game show called “Pyramid” between 2002 and 2004. He was even the runner-up on another reality show called “The Masked Singer.”
